Cape May Technical Institute
Environmental Science - riSC Program
Climate Public Art Project
Thank you to NJ Audubon and Resilient Schools and Communities (RiSC) for their invaluable support in enabling my involvement to lead selected students of Cape May Technical Institute Schools through these two climate-resilient public art projects.
I was invited to lead selected students through Cape May Tech’s RiSC program to conceptualize, develop, and create two public art sculptures focused on climate resilience.
My role involved two main responsibilities:
Design and Construction: I designed and built the spheres and bases the students would later decorate.
Guidance and Implementation: By sharing my knowledge and real-time process, I guided the students through every project stage—planning, design, development, and execution. I helped them build and decorate the spheres to bring their visions to life, ensuring that the sculptures would make a lasting impact in the public domain.
Over the course of one and a half months, we collaborated both via Zoom and in person, transforming their ideas into impressive climate-themed sculptures. Both projects were successfully installed in early June and are currently on display.
